What do nine Italian design that promises dialogue in post-industrial spaces of Altavia? Emerging designers Luca Botto, Antonio Cos, Valentina Del Ciotto, Sandra Faggiano, Margaret Matticari, Ivan Pedri, Maurizio Prina, Diego Sferrazza Simone Spalvieri and present their ' transitional objects ' to traverse along a thin line .
The poster of the exhibition UNDERGROUND Upcoming English designer talk about contamination and heterogeneity, art & design, above and below. The objects are suspended between the industrial design and the artistic gesture. Not necessarily a hybrid, rather the intermediary approach, limbo where the functionality of ' things ' leave room for poetic imagination. Objects have a low reproducibility, almost a numbered series and this is a further affinity with the artistic world.
The unique relationship that binds us to objects is construed in site-specific installations. The staging it expands the artistic value and became in turn an installation: from underground, dark and mysterious, belly up to the courtyard of the pink building overlooking the Canal.
For Altaviathe most significant challenge is to become a reference address in Milan, an incubator of interest increasingly centered on the paradigm of activation which causes reaction, affection, sense of community.
