The American design of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) arrives at the Salone del Mobile

A new generation of American design arrives at Salone del Mobile. Showcasing cutting-edge objects of young designers who foriscono on the campus of excellence of SCAD.

The innovative creations of the young talents of the academic program of Furniture Design of the prestigious American University Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) surprise the public promise of Salone del Mobile2012  , Milan.
Fresh and solid style in search and content projects, items will be presented to the Salone Satellite to Rho Fiera from 17 to 22 April and also in a special event at Fuori Salone that match shows and cocktail parties to Design Library, Zona Tortona, 19 April.

On the evening of April 19 at extraordinary Design Library, MATURITY will exhibit products that impress. As the Yeti, by Mark Leveno, steel, foam and natural wool, whose name is inspired by the legendary "abominable Snowman", in reference to its unusual seat. And the stool Colchone, de John Mc Mahon, in walnut, mahogany or maple and aluminum, that plays with visual perception due to consistent wooden surface and the design that evokes a soft pillow. Both designers are participating in the Master of Fine Arts. The Satellite, a different exposure. Bradley Bowers, graduated in Industrial Design and a Master of Arts participant, perform the original Om handcrafted vase with LaTeX and paper and with a strong artistic expression dovutaalla atypical form. The same designer, Shell, a decorative object that plays with the sense of stability, and the table multifunctional container Mona. Matt Gray, frequenter of the Master of Fine Arts, will propose Li, a table that encourages a new kind of tactile and visual experience for using unconventional materials and doors, a series of horns shaped objects to be attached to the wall, that can be used as coatrack or artistic decorations, creating an opposition between nature and artefacts. Alejandro Figueredo, the degree course in Industrial Design, he exhibited two lamps: a tabletop, Ligna, and another, Turns, both of its product line on the theme of balance and tension. Turns, for example, explores movement and stability, achieving harmony through codipendenti pieces tied to a single point. This object rotates in space, activates the light to discover the shadows. Bowers projects, Gray and Figueredo compose the professional consortium of design directed by students titled Studio PLZ DNT TCH.

The Savannah College of Art and Design is a private University, no body accredited for proft undergraduate degrees and master's degrees in different forums and through the e-learning program, which prepares students for professional careers by offering more than 40 areas of study. The student body is composed of diversifcato people from all American States and from more than 100 countries. The program of SCAD Furniture Design is based on the teaching of design processes through which products are designed, developed, manufactured and marketed.  
Maturity is a member of the Academic Council's Sustainable Furnishings perl, a nonprofit group that promotes environmentally friendly practices between producers, retailers and consumers. Students are encouraged to search for new applications for traditional practices, giving importance to the issue of sustainability.
